Saturday, July 16th at 10:00am we will be holding our annual belt promotion ceremony! Don’t miss out as we celebrate our team’s accomplishments over the last 12 months and recognize our individual teammates for their progress. This is one of the best days of the year when all of our Jiu Jitsu classes come together for games, rolls, and our favorite “rubber band” game! Our regularly scheduled Saturday classes will be canceled to make sure that everyone will have a full tank of gas for the belt promotions, so come on out for a great morning!

BJJ Tournament Recap:

James earns gold with Coach Tim. Top Right: Billie takes home the silver Bottom Right: Lenny earns bronze!

Dream BJJ California Kids Championship:

A trio of our bots took to the mats to represent Robot Fight and Fitness in the video game themed Dream Jiu Jitsu California Championship. Dream has become one of the biggest Kids tournaments in the world, drawing top talent from the area and a huge number of competitors second in size only to the IBJJF. Already well seasoned competitors, James Van Wagenen, Billie Bentley, and Lenny Bentley rolled their way to gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively. We’re always proud to see our bots compete and these young Jiu Jitsukas continue to progress and improve their results every time they step on the tatami!, Keep an eye on the podiums in the near future, you’ll be seeing a lot more of these three! Great Job bots!

Emily (Left), Lori (Middle), Annie (Right) all win their divisions at NABJJF LA Open.

NABJJF Los Angeles Open:

A trio of fembots also represented Team Robot at the NABJJF LA Open. The last place for competitors to test their skills before the summer off-season (with many people still in great shape from worlds), the LA open is perennially one of the toughest brackets on the circuit. As we knew they would, Team Robot outshined the competition with Annie Schneider, Emily Petkus, and Lori Clark all taking home gold medals from their respective brackets! Congratulations to all three of you for stepping up to compete, not to mention thriving, and bringing home the hardware!

Our new Student Experiences Coordinator Anna Brown!

Welcome Anna Brown! We’d like to extend a warm Robot welcome to our new Student Experience Coordinator Anna Brown! You’ll see Anna’s smiling face at the front desk, so make sure you say “Hi” when you come in! We’re super excited to have her join our team and for her to help continue to make Robot not only a great place to train but a community! Here are some words from Anna herself:

Hey guys! My name is Anna, you may have seen me at the front desk, if not come say hi! As a recent New York transplant and divorcee of corporate America, I am learning so much about this healthy, disciplinary, lifestyle of ROBOT. I love soaking up all that knowledge (and sun) and happy to do so with such a community! Thanks for being awesome, and happy to be on this journey with you 🙂
